Studio Owner | Pilates Instructor | Fitness Trainer
Our founder and fearless leader Jana has been teaching group exercise and personal training since 1990. She has a Bachelors degree in Physical Education from Bridgewater State College. In June 2007, she realized her dream and opened Fitness Directions.
She remains on the cutting edge by attending continuing education workshops and she works out regularly with her trainer at Pure Pilates Inc. Her passion for Pilates is only matched by her dedication to Well Strong, a fitness and wellness community for those in recovery from substance-use disorder.
Jana loves to see people become empowered as she assists them to reach their health & fitness goals.
Studio Manager | Fitness Trainer
Grace Vose believes staying motivated and consistent is all about finding movement you love.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to health and wellness and Grace will help you find your direction. She is the creator of Move with Baby and Stroller Series: small group training connecting moms /caregivers through fitness. She also specializes in working with couples. She believes exercise is a great way to not only build physical strength but also strength in relationships. She is an ACE certified personal trainer, Maddog Athletic Spinning Instructor and Institute for Integrative Nutrition holistic health coach. When not at FD, Grace is managing meltdowns and making memories with her 2 young daughters Jane and Birdie and husband Luke.
Lead Trainer | Fitness Trainer
Barb works full time as a personal trainer with a diverse client base. She is a precision nutrition
coach and an ACE certified personal trainer with 22 years experience teaching group fitness classes, specializing in senior fitness. Barb’s personal connection to health and fitness comes from her own experience in learning to find balance. She enjoys helping her clients find their path and reach their personal goals. She’s outgoing, energetic, and personable. Barb has a packed schedule but will always make time for food and family (dogs included of course!).
Deirdre "Dee" Andrews
Dee Andrews lives on Cape Cod with her husband Paul. She works full time as an occupational
therapist (MS, OTR/L) for the Falmouth Public Schools and has been a pilates instructor at Fitness Directions for 14 years! She has over 20 years of experience specializing in both pediatric and geriatric care. Dee is also the inventor and founder of My Motor Mats , a sensory path used to bridge academic learning with movement. At FD Dee will strengthen and lengthen your body using her soothing voice to guide you through a pilates flow.
Pilates Instructor | Fitness Trainer
Kristin recently received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine
for Health Sciences. She has been teaching spin and group fitness classes for the past five years with certifications through ACE for personal training and MadDogg Athletics for Spinning. Kristin also completed her Comprehensive Pilates Training through Polestar Pilates. Kristin is passionate about functional movement and loves to incorporate her knowledge of the human body into her classes and help her clients achieve their fitness goals through optimal movement patterns. When she is not working as a Physical Therapist or teaching fitness classes, Kristin finds joy in being active outdoors and traveling with her soon to be husband Michael.
Karen’s fascination with the human body and its movement and functions has been the driving force of her professional path. She has been a nurse for almost 30 years and currently works at a local hospital. She fell in love with Pilates 12 years ago and her trainer at the time encouraged her to pursue her certification. She now has a comprehensive and advanced level certification in classical Pilates. This busy wife and mother of 3 adult children and 4 fur babies loves to get outside: hiking, SUP paddling, and trail running in the woods. Come to FD for a private or semi private with Karen and leave with a sense of accomplishment.
This marathon runner was born and raised in Maryland and recently relocated to Falmouth from
Florida. She is a full time marine ecologist studying coral reef restoration. Erin is an avid fitness hobbyist and enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities, running, and playing hockey. This Schwinn certified spin instructor leads a high energy fun class at FD. She will happily discuss New England sports with you and is always excited to try new things!
Aristia “Tia” Ninos
This mother of three (plus one furbaby) is a physical therapist assistant, massage therapist and fitness instructor at FD. She has worked in the fitness industry for 20+ years and loves helping others feel their best. When not at FD, you can find Tia outdoors: running, hiking, and beaching.
Fitness Trainer | Yoga Instructor
Shawn grew up in Falmouth and has loved Fitness Directions since she was a teenager! She moved to Denver after college where she became a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and RYT 200hr yoga instructor. She also met her husband Max in Denver and they moved back to Falmouth in 2020. Shawn now works as an Oncology Nurse on Martha’s Vineyard but continues to teach at Fitness Directions because fitness was her first love! Her classes are just like her: energetic, thoughtful and fun!
Beth lives in Falmouth with husband Jeff, stepkids Sam + Maci, and boxer puppy Leo. We are lucky to have Beth teach Barre at FD when she is not hard at work as VP of sales of a software company. She's been teaching Barre for 10+ years and her class will leave you feeling strong: mentally and physically. She pushes you past your comfort zone and makes you laugh while doing it.
